Service Description

The tour that started it all! The Ole Bones Walking Tour is the best introduction to Savannah, because guests get the opportunity to be up close and personal with the history. All ages and pets are welcome on this family friendly waltz through Savannah's oldest cemetery. Catch little secrets even locals miss about this very interesting plot of land, and learn things that will make the rest of your trip even more enticing. Groups meet at the corner of Abercorn and Oglethorpe under the Patriot arch at the corner of the grounds. Using a map, guests will explore this colonial burying ground together. Hear juicy details and weird facts regarding this sacred ground. Learn the storied history of Colonial Park Cemetery, go deeper than what is on display to the public. Guests will be taken to the duelists’ grave and taught about the duels in Savannah. See evidence of vandalism and fire damage and neglect. Desecrated graves, missing vaults, excavation projects, untold stories, discrimination, and so much more. At the end, we'll convene with a coffee or pastry at Mr Bones's favorite coffee shop! ____________________ Other things to note: This is NOT a ghost tour, and is in no way frightening. This is a historic tour of Savannah's oldest cemetery turned public park. While the cemetery isn’t very large, there is quite a lot to see. Please be ready to walk!
